Chinese Ribbon Dance

Have you seen a Ribbon Dance performance?

Well, the pupils of Primary 2E can now dance the Chinese Ribbon Dance!
First, we watched a video on the Ribbon Dance. Then we all tried out some of the steps. Next, we got into our groups to discuss the steps for our performance. And finally, we performed our Ribbon Dance group by group.

Here we are in our groups, practicing our steps.

It's performance time now!!

It was fun!

Activity on mass

Hello!

Are you wondering why we are holding cans of food and packets of sugar, rice and milo?

Well.......

we are on the topic of Mass...

And...

we are trying to feel which object is heavier..and which object is lighter.

It's just like a see-saw!

Activity on length

Hi everyone!

Can you guess what are we doing?

We are measuring the length of the classroom with a 1 metre ruler.

The short form for metre is m.

Did you know that 1m = 100cm?

A Snail

We did something very interesting in class today!

Our Big Book for this week is 'Life in a Shell' so we learnt about the different animals that live in a shell, for example, snails, turtle, scallops, mussels...

Some of our brave classmates managed to find a snail in school and brought it to class!

Did you know that when snails are scared, they hide inside their shell? When they feel that there is no danger around, they slowly come out of their shell and start moving slowly.

We managed to see how the snail comes out of its shell. It was so interesting!

Look at the pictures below step by step!

1. The snail is hiding inside its shell.

2. Can you see the body coming out slowly?

3.Can you see the feelers sticking out?

4. More of its head is coming out!

5. The whole head is out. It's so slimy. Eeeeeeee...

6. It's moving! It moves really slowly.

We finally brought it back to where it came from so that it could be free!

It was amazing!

Dance!

Do you know that we know how to dance to the song "We're all in this together" - from High School Musical?

We are learning dance every Monday, from 11.30am-12.3oam this term.

Check out our pose!

It's rest time now!

Phew! It's tiring!

Our monitor and monitress :-)

Hey everyone..this is our monitor and monitress!

Our monitor's name is Danial and our monitress' name is YiQi.

Danial and YiQi, you must set a good example for your classmates to follow. I'm sure you'll do a great job leading the class :-)

Earth Day 2008

Have you heard of Earth Day?

Zhonghua Primary School is one of the schools in Singapore that support Earth Day.
For half an hour, on the 27th of March, all the classes in our school switched off all the electricity (fans, lights, visualisers, computers). This was to do our part to save electricity.

But...doing this for half an hour only is not going to help. At home, we should also save electricity. We must remember to switch off the lights and fans when not using them.

Everyone needs to play a part!
